EE Mini Ranch

Hi, we’re Shayne and Amanda — a husband and wife duo with deep prairie roots, a love for animals, and a passion for living close to the land.

EE Mini Ranch Is More Than A Name And Is The Reason We Keep The Adventure Going.

Every day here is a blend of hard work, muddy boots, animal cuddles, and quiet moments that remind us why we chose this life. Our animals are our family, and caring for them isn’t just part of the routine, it’s our passion.

Whether you’re here to follow along on our journey, learn about our animals, or simply enjoy a glimpse of rural life, we’re so glad you’re here.

Our farm started with a dream and a few four-legged family members: two lovable English Springer Spaniels, Lenny and Darryl,  three curious and handsome ginger cats, Keymoh, Eddy, and Bo, and four charming mini goats – CC, Wally, Johnny, and Roy.

Soon after, we added a small herd of mini Highland cows, Steele, Dollee, Katiee, and Lilee, whose sweet personalities and fluffy coats quickly made them the heart of our farm. We’ve also been steadily growing our flock of chickens with quality heritage breeds and there’s always room for more in Amanda’s eyes ;).

The EE Mini Ranch Team

Shayne works in the community as a Water Engineering Technologist, helping build sustainable local infrastructure and ensuring clean drinking water for our communities, while Amanda brings her expertise and love for animals to her work as a Registered Veterinary Technologist.

Mini Highland Breeder

We both grew up in Saskatchewan, where the values of hard work, community, and connection to nature were part of daily life. After several years in Kelowna, we felt a strong pull to return to those roots. In 2024, we made the move to Salmon Arm, BC — ready to embrace a slower, more intentional lifestyle and start a small farm of our own.

Our Mini Highland Cows

Mini Highlands are incredibly friendly, docile, and curious. While they’re not lap animals, they often enjoy attention, brushing, and human interaction — especially if raised with regular handling.
